Breakfast Club has been running for several years now and is well established and very popular. It has a great atmosphere and is a place where children can meet with their friends before school and enjoy a healthy breakfast together. It runs from 8.00 am - 9.00 am every morning , term time only. You can drop your child/ren off anytime between 8.00 - 8.30 am. We close the doors to breakfast club promptly at 8.30 am. The cost is £1.50 per child per session (please note that of the 20th February 2017 this will increase to £2.00 per child per session). There is no need to pre book just turn up on the day and pay. At the end of each session all KS1 children are escorted to their classrooms by a member of the breakfast club team for the start of the school day.
Each morning the children can order toast or crumpets with a selection of toppings. There is also a good selection of cereals to choose from, as well as fresh fruit and yogurts. They can also choose between fresh fruit juices, milk, squash or water to drink. During our colder months we also provide a nice warm bowl of porridge to warm us up! This is very popular especially with a spot of honey on top.
What goes on at Breakfast Club?
Breakfast club is held in the main hall each morning. We have a number of tables set up for the children to sit at whilst enjoying their breakfast, and a chat with their friends! we also have a few tables set up with board games, lego, colouring in sheets, word searches and from time to time craft. There is a pool table also. Once the children have eaten breakfast and the main breakfast rush is over we take the children outside to play, this is optional and weather permitting!
Occasionally throughout the year we have special themed mornings. This year we celebrated Shrove Tuesday by serving the children pancakes with some yummy toppings, which went down very well! Once the warmer weather arrives we hope to enjoy breakfast 'al fresco' style. Below are some photos of the pancake flipping competition we held during the morning.
Every morning around 8.45/8.50 am, our KS1 children are taken to the Library for 'Story Time'. This is a time for the younger ones to have a moment to sit quietly and rest before the start of the school day. At the end of the session the children are escorted to their class rooms.
Meet the Breakfast Club Team:
Breakfast Club is run and organised by a team of 6 staff, all of whom have other roles around the school and are therefore well known and liked by the children.
