Canals and Rivers - things to do
For now, we’ve moved from a face-to-face learning programme to a digital one and will be sharing activities that encourage children to watch, read, do, play and create as they learn about our canals and rivers from home – bringing the magic of our waterways to you!
Activities for children and their families
All these activities, based on ‘101 Activities to Help Children Get On Together’ by Jenny Mosley and Helen Sonnet, are for pairs or small groups of children – designed to help children work together, play together and to get on well together. Good luck!
Sing Up at home
Song of the Week Every week, we'll be adding a Song of the Week teaching video with some activites that go along with it. These videos can be used either at home or in school settings. We'd love to hear how you're getting on with these so please share your videos with us! Playlists We've created special themed playlists for you – Silly stuff, Relaxing/soothing, Songs to get moving and Empowering/inspiring. Feel free to use these however you'd like! They're great for singing but you can also use them for listening, dancing, background music – anything at all. We've added some of our (and your) absolute faves and have got everything from Disney tunes, to traditional songs, to pop radio winners and gorgeous Sing Up classics.

Table Tennis Kidz
Table tennis can be played by anyone and anywhere, even at home on the kitchen table. TT Kidz has launched 9 videos so you can get still get involved while at home. These include sessions on keepy-uppies and striking the ball. These videos are nice and simple and can be done with or without a table tennis table- we will also be showing ways you can get involved if you don’t have access to table tennis equipment.

The Maths Factor - Carol Vorderman
Carol Vorderman has announced that access to her maths school The Maths Factor will be free while schools are closed (normally £2/week). It's aimed at 4 to 11-year-olds and is matched to the national curriculum. You can also access popular spelling app Sir Linkalot for free until 12 June 2020 (normally £6.99/month). You'll need to sign up to its mailing list and you'll be sent a code for free access.
Free online guitar lessons for 3 months. Normally £10/month. It's a great time to learn something new if you've extra time on your hands, and manufacturer Fender is offering free guitar classes.
