Values and Ethos

"The head teacher has a clearly articulated vision for the future which is shared by all the staff."

(Ofsted Report, March 2015)

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.
Crockenhill Primary School recognises the importance of providing an ethos and environment within school that will help children to feel safe, secure and respected; encourage them to talk openly; and enable them to feel confident that they will be listened to.  We are alert to the signs of abuse and neglect and follow our procedures to ensure that children receive effective support, protection and justice.

School Values

At our school we have six values. Every term we change our value. These values are:

  • Cooperation
  • Perseverance
  • Independence
  • Motivation
  • Creativity
  • Aspiration.

Every week in achievement assembly, the teachers each choose a child from their class to be presented with a certificate. The children who are given the certificates have shown the current term’s value in their work that week.
